Laney's Homecoming

All I could think about all day was Laney's Homecoming! Todd, Kristin & Laney's flight arrived around 8:00 p.m. and there were probably 40 people in the airport waiting for them. I was selfishly wishing that I was the only one there to greet them because I have so many things that I want to talk to them about and catch up on! Laney was so sweet as she was surrounded by so many people. It was seriously like she was a movie star because camera flashes were going off left and right for an hour. As a fellow member of the paparazzi, below is a slideshow of the excitement. I am so excited for the Lewis Family...more pics and stories will come as Joshua plays with his new friend.

Fun with Friends

This weekend, Heath and Janelle are moving into a duplex! Joshua and I have had some fun this week with them... one night we helped them pack a few boxes.

...and Friday night "helped" them move a few things. Janelle and I were really wanting to see what was going on in Taipei, so we called Kristin, Todd & Laney. Here is a picture of the coolest thing ever...live web video. We have been able to talk to them live several times while they have been there. Once we got that out of our systems, then we were able to help the boys with moving.

Here is one last picture. One morning this week as I was getting ready, Joshua managed to pull himself up using the toilet seat and started unrolling the toilet paper. I couldn't stop him because he was having too much fun! Don't worry, grandmas, I'm sure the toilet seat was very clean :)

He's a crawling baby!

Joshua began crawling on January 20th. It was perfect timing because both sets of grandparents were in town that day! Not only that, but he also said "dadadada" that morning.

Random cute pics

My cousin, Kerri, sent Joshua some clothes from her son, Seth. One of my favorite things that he fits into right now is this Superman costume. (Don't tell Joshua it is a costume though...he thinks he has super powers.)

This sweet outfit is one that Jackson grew out of and is letting Joshua borrow for the cold weather we have been having! He wore it almost everyday that cold week!

Joshua with Kristin & Todd's dog, Zilla. We were helping Kristin pack Laney's suitcase, and Zilla sat down on Joshua's lap. I think Kristin was relieved that Zilla was being so sweet with a baby, because he needs to be sweet when Laney gets home!

Snow day! Joshua actually slept in until 9:30 that morning and we didn't know that the ground was covered in snow. What a great surprise! I got him all bundled up and we spent about two minutes outside so I could get a few pictures of him in the snow.

Celebrate Good Times!

The weekend of January 5th and 6th was a very busy, but fun time for our family. We celebrated Peter's 28th birthday and Joshua's 8 month birthday on the 5th. The 6th was our 6th wedding anniversary. Peter's family came in town to celebrate his birthday, and then watched Joshua so we could have a much-needed date night for our anniversary.

We also traded the Jeep in on Peter's birthday. Here is a picture of the birthday boys with the last glimpse of the Jeep. We did not take a picture with the new car...a minivan. Yes, that's right, we're a minivan family. I never thought that would happen!

While we were waiting for the paperwork to go through, Joshua became a pro at eating puffs. He also entertained everyone at the dealership.

Family pic on our anniversary...amazing what has changed in our 6 years of marriage!

Moving Day (actually moving week)

We moved from our house into our new apartment the day after Christmas. Movers came to move all of our furniture, and then we spent the next few days moving the rest of our stuff and cleaning. As many of you know, selling or renting our house has been a huge prayer of ours for the last several months. We were really wanting to get involved with Apartment Life ministry again, but nothing was really coming together. A group of 5 DBU students decided to rent our house starting January 1st. On December 21st, we found out that we would be moving to St. Laurent Apartments in Grand Prairie. God's timing was perfect...we were packed up and moved by the time the renters needed to be in our house.

Joshua was such a sweet boy the entire week we were moving and cleaning. He was enjoying his big living room in the house for a few more hours.

Joshua's First Christmas

This post is going to play catch up from all that has happened during Christmas! These pictures are from our stay in Houston.

Joshua playing the piano at Grandma & Grandpa's house. He's starting to get the hang of it...maybe he's Baby Mozart :)

Joshua loves to swing at the park!

Mommy and Joshua enjoying the slide.

Each year in my parent's neighborhood, Santa Clause rides by on a fire engine and throws candy canes. Joshua was a little freightened by the loud sirens.

Joshua opened presents on Christmas Eve night at Grandma & Grandpa's house (Melissa's parents). The animal train is one of his favorites!

He would have been content just receiving bows and ribbons!

We went to Peter's parents' house (Granny & Pop) Christmas Eve night. Joshua woke up very early, but could not start opening presents until Aunt Oksana woke up. Joshua was able to take a nap in Daddy's arms before she woke up.

Burro, Phillip's dog, got in on the unwrapping action!

Then we went to Papa & DenDen's house for our second Christmas celebration of the day.

Lunch at Uncle Numa and Aunt B's house is always fun. Here is Joshua with Cousin Elizabeth and Aunt B.

Joshua ate his first puff at lunch...he was not amused! Puffs are baby cereal that dissolves easily in their mouth.

Laney Lewis

I have not posted in a really long time! I will play catch up soon, but I wanted to do a quick post about my sweet friends, Todd and Kristin Lewis. They left on Friday afternoon to go to Taiwan to get their daughter, Laney. They have been in the process of adopting her for 9 months andwe are so excited that their time of waiting has finally come to an end. This evening, I got a video of the three of them together. It is absolutely wonderful to see them all together. Laney was so sweet, just sitting in Kristin's arms. I know that this is the day that they have been praying for so long. Our God is so amazing to have ordained this day for them! They will be home on January 29th, but you can stay updated on their journey through their blog...www.youbelong.net/toddandkristin.
